Our sports
Whether you’re a competitive sports person or simply like to exercise for fitness and fun, balance-orientated sports are for you. They're the easiest way of achieving and maintaining high levels of fitness, and you can fit them into your busy lifestyle. If you have a competitive spirit they will offer you the challenges you need.
Last summer we introduced Standup Paddleboarding on inland water to East Anglia and the UK. Twelve months on, the sport is thriving with clubs opening up all over the country.
Land Paddling, aka Street SUP, is a combination of Long Boarding and Standup Paddleboarding. Long Boarding was born when land bound surfers sought to recreate the joy of the surf on city streets. It’s an exhilarating way to get around the Urban Jungle!
The Indo Board company’s strap line captures the essence of the sport - Balance Boarding is “the Board Sport for Everyone Everywhere.” Originally invented by Hunter Joslin in the 1960’s, Balance Boarding has enjoyed a revival in recent years, thanks to the current trend for core fitness.
Every time you move, your body uses certain “core” muscles to hold you steady. These core muscles lie deep within the “trunk” of the body, attached to the spine, pelvis and muscles that support the shoulder blades. Core muscles stabilise these areas to create a firm foundation for co-ordinated movement.
